Summer is right around the corner and I'm helping you embrace hangout gems in Huntsville/Madison!

After the year we've had we are all trying to figure out what the new "normal" looks like. One things for sure Huntsville/Madison has a lot of spots to hangout at. If you are eager to get out of the house, but not sure what to do this may be your answer. This list has you covered, whether your looking for a night out on the town or a fun family friendly summer location. Dining, buying local art, catching butterflies, or playing corn hole are just some of the exciting things you will find at these vibrant locations. So don't let lack of knowledge stop you from getting out of the house and enjoying what Huntsville/Madison has to offer. Stay safe and enjoy!

1. Lowe Mill

"This historic arts center provides its community—both in and outside the Mill—with a space to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in various disciplines, a place to fully immerse in an originative environment, ultimately making arts, entertainment, and culture accessible to those who visit this vibrant facility."

2. Stovehouse

"In the century-old building that was once all work and no play, the reimagined Stovehouse complex is now manufacturing leisure. It’s home to restaurants, event spaces, live music venues, bars, outdoor dining, coffee shops, boutique shopping, fitness studios and high tech companies."

3. Botanical Gardens

"The Huntsville Botanical Garden is proud of the growth that has occurred since our opening in 1988. We operate from the premise that we are truly the “community’s garden. We strive to be responsive and proactive by taking a leadership role in environmental issues such as sustainability. This physical master plan is focused on providing a memorable experience for the visitor."

4. Campus No. 805

"The Stone Center building and the new 16,000 square foot Student Union has attracted a growing list of tenants to include craft breweries, restaurants, catering, bars, retail and entertainment venues. We’re also located in one of the City’s Arts & Entertainment Districts, which means patrons can purchase a beer or drink and take it outside when they leave."

5. MidCity District

"MidCity District offers a balanced mix of uses connected by urban plazas and walkable streets, adjacent to a 40-acre public park that integrates a functional lake system, an 8,000-capacity regional outdoor public amphitheater, Topgolf, multi-purpose lawns, and an outdoor climbing area. A one-mile biking and running trail will encircle the lake and recreational area. The trail will also connect to the City’s Master Greenway Plan, the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s campus expansion, and the trail system in Cummings Research Park."
